Breastfeeding with a sling?
I am 22 weeks pregnant with baby #2. I am registered for baby items and one of them is the Ultimate Baby Wrap. It has 5 positions, one of which is a sling. I nursed my first in public and will do the same with this one, but have heard that people have nursed with their babies in slings, which would give me both hands free. I think this would be nice if I'm at a restaurant or something and need both hands. My questions are:
1. Is it difficult to position the baby in the sling to be at the proper location to nurse?
2. Does it help with "discrete" nursing? I don't like breastfeeding without covering up.

well I didn't really get into the wrap style carriers, but have many friends who use them and the answers are
1. no, not once you learn how
2. yes, most of the time people have no idea what's going on in there!
I'm a fan of the ring sling personally... and the answers are the same. it does take some practice to figure it out. between how your carrier is, your body type, and your baby's size -it just evolves to meet your needs.
especially when wearing a nursing shirt it is discreet. my favorite was just wearing a nursing tank/cami then using a regular button down shirt. I would walk through any place, including the library, museum, grocery store, mall, zoo while nursing my daughter and no one would know.
