Frequently Asked Questions:

Is a Baby Carrier Pouch worth it?
Have any moms used a baby pouch, like the baby bijorn or the ergo carrier? I don't want to use a wrap because i'm nervous the baby would fall out or slip through but the carriers look like a good way to hold your baby while keeping your arms or hands free. Are they actually helpful or useful or are they a waste of money?
I've used both a wrap carrier and a soft structured carrier (like the ergo).
Honestly, the wrap is worth it's weight in gold. They are a LOT more secure than a structured carrier with a young infant and if I had known about them when my son was a newborn I would have had one for him! Both my kids were NOT fans of strollers (would scream the place down if you put them in a stroller) and a carrier was literally the only way I could do shopping with the kids.
Unless you buy EXACTLY the right structured carrier for your body shape, weight, posture and your child it can be VERY uncomfortable. The Ergo carrier is about the most comfortable of the structured carriers and that is nowhere near as comfortable as a correctly worn wrap. If a wrap carrier is loose enough for a baby to slip out of it is not done up correctly.
