Second baby, would a baby carrier or sling be benificial? Or should i save the money.?

I am due with my second baby in a week. I have an almost 16 month old toddler running(climbing jumping, dancing) around. I had a baby carrier but only used it a few times with him and it was really just for fun because i had it. I saved almost everything of his, but i sold this to once upon a child. Should i invest in another one? Will it help when im home with a newborn and a toddler, or will it be something that sits around again?
I never thought of that making it easier to go out in public with them, that just convinced me that i definitely do want one. Although im not sure about making one myself.

I use a double stroller for my twins, and when I nannied.

To shop, you can put the infant car seat over the back of the cart (it goes across) and put the toddler sitting in the front of the cart (or let him sit in the basket and put the baby car seat in the front.)

I have 9 month old twins, and I nannied two toddlers, and I never use the sling I got.

I have used the baby bjorn carrier when I couldn't use a stroller / car seat somewhere (like on a golf cart in a retirement community).

There are double strollers that hold infant car seats, and can accomodate a toddler.

I think coming from not liking the carrier the first time, you likely won't want to use it for 2 now.

We go shopping etc. all the time. We put both infant car seats on the cart, or take the stroller in.

If I had a third I might possibly have to go for a carrier, but I would much rather have a 3 child stroller.

15 month old and toddler bed?

My 15 month old son keeps getting his legs caught in between the wood slats on his crib. He panics when they get caught and they are quite difficult to get unstuck. Bumper pads don't work as he tends to use them as stairs. I was thinking about converting his crib into the toddler bed. What are your suggestions?

We still use bumpers with our 15mos old daughter for the same reason.

You could try getting a bed rail, Lindam have a great toddler bed rail, Put the bed against a wall, and put the rail on the other side to avoid having to buy 2 rails.

Do you know of a carrier for bigger/older babies?

Noah is 9 months old and weighs 21 lbs. He doesn't always like sitting in the seat of our cart when we're out shopping so either my husband or myself carry him on our hip. This gets tiring after about 10 minutes! The other night we were at Target and, out of curiosity, we placed him in a carrier on my husband. He LOVED it.

We don't want to spend a lot because I doubt we'll be using it long but does anyone use one with their older infants? I just know I personally cannot haul a 21 lb. baby through Walmart for an hour.

Ergo - Elyse is 18 pounds and we don't use a stroller at all and she never sits in the shopping cart. I can carry her all day and not feel the weight.

Hello, I would like some advice on the best sling for carrying a toddler. I would like something that will work up to 35 lbs. Personal experience only please...

The Ergo is the best. I still use it for my 44lb, 4 yr old when she gets too tired at the zoo!!

SOOOO worth the money!!
(mei tai styles are good too, but my husband does not like the "look" of them, too girly, the ergo is more backpack like - and has "man buckles" so for us, it was the more versatile choice)

Question about baby sling?

I am pregnant with a baby due in September. I have a toddler who will be 16 months when this one will be born. I am looking for an affordable sling that you can nurse, carry while caring for the toddler, and easy to take with you as well as hands-free.
