how young can you put a baby in a front carrier?
are there any minimums in terms of age, weight or physical ability (like being able to hold their own head up) that a baby has to get to before you can safely put them in a front carrier (snugli)? i'm talking about the kind that you can put the baby in facing you or when they're older, move the piece of padding down and have them facing out.
i can't imagine putting a little newborn in one but if not, when? so i'm just not sure. our first baby is due in december and i want to carry her/wear her as much as possible (i also have a baby sling in case i or the baby prefers that).

just to clarify, i'm referring to that style of carrier but putting them in it facing me, not out as you would an older child.

I use my baby bjiorn all the time and my daughter is 6 months old. I face her toward me in the carrier and it works great. I started using it when she was 2 weeks old. My hubby is deployed and I also have a 2 year old so I have to have my hands free. Just tighten it really good and you shouldn't have an issue. My daughter only weighed 5 lb. 7 oz at birth.
