Researching baby carriers...I thought I had made my decision but now I'm not so sure...help?
I had decided on a ring sling since I have a toddler and need something I could just nurse in while on the go. I assumed a ring sling was by best option with that, but someone just told me that you can nurse in a Mei Tai, too. After watching a video, it looks so easy!
But my question is what makes a Mei Tai different than crotch dangler carriers? It seems to have the same function... and is it really a good carrier for a newborn?
K, could you nurse in the Ergo?
I'm finding that any picture I see, the baby's head seems to be up higher than the boobs to nurse, even with the majority of carriers. This functionality is important to me, so if I am investing in something like this, I need to be sure it is possible.

No, not even close. Look at pix of well-tied ones -- the knees are higher than the bum... A Bjorn-type puts the weight in one place but a mei tai distributes it over a larger area.
I'm having a hard time finding a photo to illustrate it, but, with a young baby in a mei tai, the legs don't go out the sides; the baby is sort of "froggied" -- legs bent like a frog's -- inside the thing. If that makes some sense? They are useful for young babies.
This http://www.mom4life.com/catalog.php?item=1776 gives an okay idea of how newborns are squished in and older tots have the bum riding a bit low and support on their thighs...
I had nine carriers (really); I used the mei tai third most; the Ergo got the most use, followed by the Maya Wrap.
