my sister may get her kids taken away by the acfs and thats in canada,we are native amerivan and we have dual/ both citisin ship. as a native we could live and work on either side of the border.... they will want to put the babies with fam. but i live in america and live 6 hours away do you think they would allow them to come live with me..... does the mother get a say???? do you know any thing about the law? thank you for your time.... when kids get taken away do they help with the expences?????? it just breaks my heart because shes the one who they will be crying for at night ya know.....they havent got taking away yet but they said if she goes back to the abusive father that they will take the kids..... he dont touch the kids only her sometimes.....
I am not sure how it works in Canada but I will tell you how it worked for us in the US. My granddaughter was taken from her mom and placed in foster care for 10 days while we filled out background check forms, had our house inspected to make sure it was safe, clean and had food available. She has been with us almost a year now and guardianship is now ours. Most likely they will give the family a chance to step in as long as she says it is okay. I am not sure how old the children are but usually if you are saving them money by caring for them yourself you can receive forms of assistance. I get the daycare bill paid by the state and she has Title 19 for medical. I am entitled to ask for cash assistance and possibly food stamps since I am still raising my own children but they would take the money out of the mother and father's income. I want them to find jobs and try to grow up so do not ask for any help in that respect. I can provide her basic needs with my income and only need daycare and medical covered. She needs to grow up and realize she is hurting her children by putting them in the position she does. It doesnt matter if he doesnt hurt the kids, they can see her fear of him, that is emotional abuse for all of them. She needs to put her kids first and tell him to stay away. Her true love should be for the kids and not for him! Good luck!!
