Ok what is the pouch or ring sling? I have heard of the moby so Ill look at that too...yea hes our chunky monkey baby 
They are awesome. However, at 5 weeks (and 15lbs?!!!), your baby might be more comfy in a pouch or ring sling, in a secure cradle or tummy to tummy hold. A MT might be too loose around a floppy newborn--it doesn't really support side to side movement of their head. You can use it up to about 30-35lb, or around 3 years old.
