I kept the package for mine and it says
under 5'2- small
5'2 to 5'9- medium
above 5'9- large
I'm 5'2 and got the medium (unpadded), and it works perfectly for me. However, in the 8 months I've had it, I have used it probably 4 times. If you use it though, make sure you watch the dvd that comes with it (IF one does) because I had a heck of a time trying to figure it out on my own before finally seeing the dvd in the bottom of the package.
