I better admit my thumbs are not exacly green ... yet. I planted basil for the first time this year and exactly two weeks later the plant looks like someone took a hole punch to it. I have several children, so this scenario is surprisingly possible. But that's beside the point.

My grapes, yes grapes, mysteriously began to grow all by themselves two years ago (unsuspecting composter on the loose?) and managed to pop up in a delightful spot at the corner of my house to boot. They are COVERED in bountiful clusters, but the leaves are all torn and eaten. I can see these culprits. They're shinly little black beetles, about the size of baby peas, kinda neat looking too.

How do I safely get rid of them? Should I get rid of them? If I spray something, does it have to be toxic waste that will make my grape vine green whilst my kidneys mutate into barnacles?

Please, please help me... I just wanna have nice plants. Is this bad karma from all the pumpkins I turned into slush last year?
