I don't have an ergo, but my kiddos have all loved my carriers. with ergo style carriers, if you have a newborn, they may not be as cozy in it as say a wrap carrier or a pouch, in my opinion. I say organic brown is totally gender neutral, and would work for either. If you sew at all, you can make an infant insert or accessories out of cute fabrics that go with brown.
