What are best slings/carriers for newborn baby?

What worked for you the best? Is baby Bjorn air good? What is preferable - sling or carrier and what is the difference?

I sew slings. and in personal experience can tell you that a sling can be used until the child is a weight you wouldnt carry, you just adapt how you wear it! However, I also make meitais and i find them much more comfortable but slightly more difficult to put on than a sling. I would suggest having both in your car, the sling for a quick duck into the shops and a meitai for longer wear, Plus you can nurse in a sling! As far as store bought carriers go, I've tried 2 different types and found them very awkward
