Is it true the warmer it gets outside the less active black/dark colored dogs are?
Because dogs with darker or black fur get warmer in the summer, does it make them less active? My friend just told methat, and I can kind of see it in her black cocker spaniel, but I'm not sure if this is true for all dogs. Help?

I have a pure black lab and he suffers through direct sunlight badly. He has a tendency to get very lethargic and consumes copious amount of water. Strange thing though; even though he is afforded plenty of shade in the yard and access to an airconditioned house, he prefers to prostrate himself under the direct sunlight. And when goes to get up his tongue is stuck to the grass.
